Patricia Tarasovic


Patricia C. Tarasovic is Director of Development of Birmingham Group Health Services, and the former Director of Valley United Way's Volunteer Action Center (VAC). Pat created the Valley's award-winning Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) and High School Volunteer Council, in addition to running the Youth Leadership Program at United Way.

Pat's community and civic involvement efforts have touched the Valley, her home town of Oxford, the state of Connecticut, and beyond. She is a past Director of The Connecticut Junior Women Organization where she helped raise close to a million dollars in cash and in-kind support, and managed 62 clubs with a total of 2,000 members. She is also a past President of the Oxford Junior Women's Club.

Pat's commitment to education is evidenced through her past presidency of the Connecticut Association of Partners in Education, a statewide coalition to promote community involvement in the schools. On a more local level, Pat was a co founder of the town of Oxford's 18 year old nationally award winning School Volunteer Program. For this accomplishment, she was one of only two recipients of the Connecticut Education Association's Friend of Education Award.

Pat has been involved in improving her home town's quality of life since moving to Oxford 21 years ago. She was the co-founder of the Oxford Cultural Arts Commission, and oversaw the building of Oxford's bandstand and the initiation of its concert series. More recently, she co-chaired Oxford's successful bicentennial and 350th anniversary events. She also served on the town's Beautification Committee and several town committees.

Pat has been a driving force in the Valley's LEAD Program (now Leaderwship Greater Valley), which trains a diverse group of community members to serve on the Valley's nonprofit boards. She is currently Co-chair of the Valley council's Healthy Valley  initiative and is also co-chair of Healthy Valley Education Committee which spearheaded the Community Conversation on Education and orchestrated the Education Mini-Grants Program. Pat was one of the Valley's All America City delegates and was co-chair of the Valley's All America City weekend gala. Her dedication to community service has certainly made a difference in the lives of those she has touched through these diverse activities

Pat received the national recognition of "Woman who Make A Difference" in the New Haven Region and also received the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce's Gold Seal Award.

A twenty one year resident of Oxford, she hails from Boston, Massachusetts. She has three children: Allen-Michael, Kathleen-Elizabeth  and Nicholas-Curran. She has also has been blessed with a wonderful husband Nicholas who is from Trumbull.
