Valley Council's Food Resources
Many individuals and families in the Valley rely on local resources and government aid for consistent access to food. Food insecurity is increasing in the Valley, with residents across every town sharing that rising household costs, transportation challenges, and the high price of groceries makes it difficult to keep food on the table. Local organizations see these challenges every day through increased demand, changing needs, and the growing number of community members seeking support.
We have created this page to bring together clear and current information about SNAP and other local food access resources. Below are links to state government information as well as links to trusted organizations throughout the Valley that provide food assistance, community meals, pantry services, and help navigating programs. Our goal is to offer one reliable place where residents and organizations can quickly find the support they need.
SNAP recipients can check their SNAP card balances by visiting MyDSS.ct.gov or calling 1-888-328-2666. For the latest policy updates, visit www.ct.gov/dss
