Valley Council's SNAP Response
Due to the federal government shutdown, the federal government has stopped funding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) effective November 1st. SNAP benefits have not been distributed to recipients for November, and it is not clear at this time if/when any full or partial payments may occur or if no payments will occur at all. In response, Connecticut state government has now issued full SNAP benefits through state funding for November. SNAP recipients can check their SNAP card balances by visiting MyDSS.ct.gov or calling 1-888-328-2666.

Changes to SNAP impact people throughout the Valley who rely on these benefits daily to feed themselves and their families. We have put this page together to consolidate up-to-date information, official communications, and local support options for individuals and families who rely on SNAP to put food on the table.
